Underwriting is much like a advertising, except as a non profit, educational organization, we are bound by certain FCC regulations. The difference? We can do almost everything you hear in most commercial advertisements with limitations on airing prices, comparisons, and calls to action.

We can:
- Mention the name of your business
- Give address, telephone,website, and other contact information
- List brands of goods or types of services offered by your business

We cannot:
- Include price information or air price quotes
- Use comparative or qualitative descriptions (best, lowest, biggest etc..)
- Make a call to action (go there, you should buy etc.)

KCPR makes a recorded message using the information you provide. Recorded spots are approximately 30-45 seconds in length. You can either provide us with your own script, you may come in and record your own voice, or we can do everything for you.

KCPR runs all of its underwriting spots at 30 minutes past the hour. Most underwriters choose to run their spots during the daylight hours. Consequently, some hours are doubly requested. Air-times are first-come, first-serve, and we reserve the right to adjust underwriting schedules accordingly. We do not run spots more than 3 times per day.
